Mummy and daddy gave Luke a Fisher Price digital camera for his birthday and he’s been clicking away ever since. Unfortunately a few mastepieces got deleted before we were able to download them, but he’s got a long career of photo talking ahead of him. Check in often for his latest work.

Sunday Morning Field Trip to Look at Art in Boston

Mummy, Joy and Luke at the ICA Boston

This morning we took a field trip to an art museum in Boston. The Institute of Contemporary Art just opened their new home a few months ago.

The first work that we encountered in the lobby was The Divine Gas by Chiho Aohsima. It is a very large (30′ high x 60′ wide) painting of a young girl lying in the grass and as Luke was quick to discern she was making a “poopy” cloud. A perfect beginning for a 3 year old art critic!

Outside was a much larger than life Parrot phone booth which reminded Joy and Luke of their friend “Alpha” at The Wreck Bar on Grand Cayman (although it was about 60 degrees colder!)

One of Daddy’s favorite artists is Cornelia Parker and Luke liked her too although he thought it looked like wood burned from a fire, which in fact it was. He may have a future in art criticism!

After the great trip to the ICA in the morning, Mummy, Luke and Joy were inspired to make some art of their own.

Another exciting adventure for the MattapoisettMellos.
